Nixer Architecture

Nixer comprises three distinct parts; Nixer Virtual Appliance – the virtual classifier appliance, Nixer Cloud Service – the cloud compute engine and Brightconsole.

The virtual appliance is deployed in the cloud service or data centre, and is the enforcement point that mitigates DDoS attacks. Traffic is analysed, proxied and classified, when it is either blocked, challenged or allowed.

This analysis is underpinned by our cloud compute engine which utilises next generation machine learning algorithms and feature extraction techniques to separate DDoS traffic from legitimate user traffic. Each connection is inspected and scored, against our custom built ULTRA architecture which is built for speed and resilience.

Brightconsole provides the administrational interface into both the classifier appliance and cloud compute engine. Brightconsole also contains advanced analytics and visualisation of how services are being protected.
