CROSSWORD SIGNS COMMERCIALISATION AGREEMENT WITH BRISTOL UNIVERSITY CRYPTOGRAPHY & INFORMATION

Crossword Cybersecurity Plc and Bristol University Cryptography and Information Security Group have signed an agreement to explore commercialisation opportunities. Bristol University Cryptography and Information Security Group, led by Professor Nigel Smart, has an international reputation for its outstanding research in cryptography. Multi-Party Computation is a sub-field of cryptography and Professor Smart’s team has created leading edge intellectual property in this highly specialised domain. Crossword is working exclusively with the group to explore ways that it can be deployed in the high value arena of financial and non-financial trading.

Tom Ilube, Crossword’s CEO said “The need for security and privacy in the high value domain of financial and commodities trading is paramount. Bristol’s research into Multi-Party Computation opens up new, highly secure techniques that could transform the way trading is conducted electronically”

“Our Multi-Party Computation research is ripe for commercialisation and we think the City, one of the world’s leading financial centres, would benefit hugely from making use of it. Partnering with Crossword should help us to achieve this goal” commented Bristol University’s Professor Smart.
