Crossword creates smart cities cyber security spin out company with Coventry University

Crossword Cybersecurity and Coventry University have created a new spin out venture, CyberOwl, to commercialise leading edge cyber security research into target centric network monitoring aimed at the rapidly growing Smart Cities arena.

The academic founder of CyberOwl, Dr Siraj Shaikh, Reader in Cyber Security at Coventry University, and his team has conducted extensive research in the area of threat attribution and monitoring using advanced Bayesian analytics. This research is directly applicable to cyber security in Smart Cities and the Internet of Things. Coventry University has assigned the intellectual property and Mercia Fund Management has provided seed funding to CyberOwl Ltd.
